The kitchen countertop plays a significant role in modern design. In addition to durability, it should have high decorative properties and harmoniously blend with the overall design, emphasizing the room’s style.
Among the available natural materials, granite is most commonly used for manufacturing countertops. Countertops made of natural granite never go out of fashion and remain relevant regardless of the room’s style or design.
To prevent moisture and dirt from getting into the gaps between the countertop and the wall, a backsplash is used. It is made of the same stone as the countertop. Another solution for protecting the walls and surfaces adjacent to the countertop is a kitchen apron, which consists of one or several large pieces made of the same stone as the countertop and is mounted vertically on the wall. Alternatively, the countertop can be installed without a backsplash, but in such cases, high geometric requirements are imposed on the surrounding walls and furniture to ensure minimal gaps, which are then filled with special adhesive sealants matching the color of the stone.
If the countertop exceeds a length of 3 meters, it is manufactured using two or more pieces due to the maximum length of stone slabs (up to 3 meters 20 centimeters). The joints of the countertop pieces are strategically placed in specific areas where they will be less visible (such as in the center of the cooking surface or below the sink if it is attached to the countertop with its edges).
The cost of the countertop is calculated based on the price of granite tiles plus the cost of edge processing and cutouts.
